The number of people employed in temporary or contract staffing positions has increased 18.2 percent this year through November, according to the American Staffing Association.

That is a boost from the 15 percent it was up as of October.

The ASA Staffing Index also reveals that staffing employment is up 6.9 percent for November compared with the same month last year.

The association reports that staffing employment has risen 2.1 percent for the past 30 days, an improvement from the prior 30-day period when it was flat.

“Typically, staffing employment peaks between mid-November and mid-December each year, after which it dramatically declines for several weeks before turning upward in mid-January,” according to the ASA.
